Job Role

The Cook will report to the General Manager and will carry out the following duties: -

  1. Food Preparation 
    1. Preparation of both sweet and savoury foods Cooking of hot meals using deep fat fryers, griddles and other electrical appliances.
  2. Food Hygiene 
    1. Ensure that food is stored correctly and that cooked and uncooked foods are kept separate. Clean worktops and other surfaces in a manner consistent with the centres cleaning policy.
  3. Monitoring / Reporting
    1. Rotate & monitor stock levels and raise purchasing requests to management. Report Health & Safety issues to management. Record temperatures as required under HACCP.  
  4. General/Other duties 
    1. Food service when required
    2. Clearing tables
    3. Cleaning of food service area
    4. Carry out deep cleaning daily/weekly as per rotas
    5. First Aid (where trained).  
  5. Customer Care 
    1. Have an awareness of customer needs and expectations and strive to give the customer a good experience.

Cooks will be flexible and will work with management to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the centre.



  • Must have working knowledge of HACCP (Hazardous and Critical Control Points) and COSHH (Control of 
  • Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience of working in a commercial kitchen.
  • Current or expired Level 2 food hygiene certificate.
  • Must be prepared to obtain level 3 food hygiene, if not already held, within 2 months of start date.

Salary & Hours of work

  • £12,000-£15,000 depending on experience.
  • Hours of work are negotiable, over a 7 day week.
  • Normal weekday hours are 9.30am - 6pm.  Sunday hours are 12.30pm - 6pm.


Busy periods are when schools are off, late afternoon’s, weekends, half terms, Christmas, Easter & summer holidays. The successful candidate will be available during these periods as a matter of course.
